The Beach as a Setting of Vicious War Scenes

Beach Sunset
Although the majesty of the beach touches at the deepest positive soul of humanity, it can often be the venue for the most forbidding and unpleasant experiences of human beings. Wars are a perfect example of how beaches become the very arena where two factions spill each other’s blood. From depictions of Saving Private Ryan to Troy to Robin Hood (2010), beaches have been the famous setting of monumental historical wars. If it is not a war that conjures lurid experiences, it is also the favorite setting for unnerving supernatural visions. The apostle John has seen Jesus from the edge of the sea cliff, revealing to him the harrowing events of the future in spectacular fashion.
